The Empty Man is the maddest studio horror movie in a long time
Main Post:
Anyone else seen The Empty Man? One of the last 20th Century Fox movies (even has the old studio logo) and was dumped into theatres in the US in October last year. No marketing, nothing. It’s finally on VOD here in Europe. Never heard of it until now and took a random swing last night.
It’s a supernatural demon movie with a set-up not unlike Candyman or Slender Man or maybe Sinister - private detective searching for a missing girl and finds the weird legend of The Empty Man, and various teens summoning him to see what will happen.
The twist is that’s 137 MINUTES LONG and is really about the philosophy of manifestation, tulpas (kind of like in Twin Peaks?) and nihilism. Granted a good 20 mins of that is a very long but very cool prologue.
Written and directed by David Prior (who directed a bunch of behind the scenes docs for Zodiac, Panic Room and a lot of Fincher’s movies), it’s hard to follow towards the end and gets way too deep into the philosophy but I really dug how bold it gets. Unlike any studio horror I’ve ever seen. A cult movie in the making for sure.
Has anyone seen / can anyone actually explain the significance of the last act?
Top Comment: Excellent film and another example of why this sub is a joke. The fact there wasn't a discussion for it is ridiculous. This is a film that deserved a post for viewers to come together and discuss their interpretations. Definitely one of the better horror films of recent memory and could easily be a cult classic. Had it not come out during covid it very well could have been a huge hit.
Delivery man at movie studio
Main Post:
I'm only given 4hrs to complete the delivery man's requests, but the tasks total to 5h 50m. Is this a glitch or do they really expect me to spend lifestyle points each time? The long wait times and high prices at the movie studio, compared to the police station, already annoyed me greatly.

That's weird, my guys all show a 2hr task, 1h10, 20min and 2min. It doesn't leave much room for error but it's doable at 3h32m.
Regardless, I can't see myself getting the boom as my movie studio isn't very updated

Does anyone have the third man studio vault subscription?
Main Post:
I am always thinking about buying it but it’s just enough money, I’d hate to buy it and realize it’s a bunch of garbage albums? Does anyone have it? What are your thoughts?
Edit: Thanks! Y’all got me convinced
Top Comment: I’ve had it since 2013 and only once skipped a quarters package. The Margot Price one wasn’t my fav but all the WS reissues have been amazing. Not only is it quality vinyl, but quality packaging. My only gripes is they keep including dvds of live shows when they need to be doing BluRay/UHD as the standard. Edit: terrible typing that wasn’t proofread at an early hour.
